NELIS Community Gala Night/Day/Morning overview
NELIS Community Gala Night/Day/Morning was held on December 4th. In Japan, this is a called a “forget-the-year-meeting” (bounenkai) – and we were 32 people from around 12 countries who got together not ONLY to forget 2020, but ALSO to remember all the amazing things that happened in the NELIS community in this strange year (see below). Each brought a drink and we had some roulette games, a Yes and… session, a discovery session about Santa Claus, and a live cooking session with two NELIS chefs from/in Greece! And some nice music.
In 2020…
- We started 4Revs – a co-creative ecosystem, Next Leaders University (NLU)< and OMLA (One Million Leaders Africa) as well as OMLATAM (for Latin America).
- We distributed the first funds of the NELIS Empowerment Fund (USD 22,000) to projects by NELIS members, this time mainly in Africa.
- The NELIS website was recreated and a NELIS Directory was created – which we hope you will sign up to in the coming year!
- An amazing 4Revs World Hakacthon was held end of October with 190 participants from 26 countries. As part of this, an online 4revs Innovation Challenge with Socialab, Colombia, garnered 64 proposals from all corners of the world.
- And we had our first writing challenge, the results of which you can see on NELIS
