Description:

This is the photography of an elderly man having his breakfast and reading some newspapers in the early morning of a waking up neighborhood of Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan, 2019.

It looks like he was always here: and maybe he was. Who knows? This old man is the personification of timelessness.

Surrounded by ultra-modern skyscrapers and bunches of international tourists, the permanence of his gesture gives us hope: humans are way more resilient than what we think.

This man doesn’t make any noise. He is almost hidden in the shadow. He doesn’t have Instagram. But he is so strong and fortunate, because immutability is the real luxury in our fast-changing world.

Should future finally be timeless ? Perhaps.
