Gakken Plus x NELIS started studying commercialization of human resources development “committed to SDGs”
A new internship that accelerates corporate transformation. To the stage where young people with the qualities of an intrapreneur can play an active role!
Gakken Plus Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa, Tokyo / President: Hiroyuki Kageyama), a group company of Gakken Holdings Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa, Tokyo / President: Hiroaki Miyahara), is an NPO corporation NELIS (Shinagawa, Tokyo / President: Hiroyuki Kageyama). Through activities in the co-creation and co-education community committed to SDGs with Peter D. Pedersen), we will provide new human resource development and recruitment support services that produce students with flexibility in change and business conception. Toward the end, we have started to consider commercialization.
In the VUCA era, strategies based on past success stories and achievements do not work. If we do not respond to change, it will be difficult for the company to survive. In addition, we are in an era where efforts for SDGs are directly linked to corporate value. In such an era, hiring and in-house training of human resources with “flexible response to change” and “problem finding / solving ability” has become a major issue for companies. In addition, students are more likely to want to work for a company where they can expect their own growth, rather than the brand name of the company. Both recruiting and job hunting activities are required to provide services to meet new needs that cannot be covered by conventional methods.
Gakken Plus creates sustainable learning through inquiry-based services. We also provide a wide variety of educational services to a wide range of people, from infants to seniors, and are used in more than 30 countries around the world. As an initiative of SDGs, SDGs education such as provision of SDGs education curriculum to high schools is implemented. We are working to popularize the SDGs to a wide range of people, such as by publishing “A book that connects us with the SDGs that bring the world closer together” supervised by Akira Ikegami.
NELIS operates an innovation platform (4Revs) that aims to learn about four areas (food, water, resources, energy and climate change) that can be bottlenecks for human survival among SDGs and to discover new solutions. It is an NPO corporation. Based on the latest social issues and cases gathered from all over the world, we provide a year-round collaboration and co-creation program between employees of supporting companies and young social innovators.
Through this collaboration, we will develop new curriculum contents for students based on NELIS’s global network of 65 countries and 4Revs contents, and based on Gakken Plus’ know-how of educational service operation. ..
Through this service, Gakken Plus and NELIS provide online
“co-creation / * co-education” and “intrapreneur education” by students, companies, and young social innovators around the world, and provide corporate structural reforms and business planning
capabilities. We aim to develop students who can contribute to the improvement of the society and build a new recruitment model.
As the first step in considering commercialization, at the 4Revs World Hackathon (held online this year) to be held from October 29 to 30, 2020, “Innovation” by Gen Z university students and participants from participating companies・ Session ”will be held. With this innovation session as the starting point, we will grow the co-creation and co-education community so that companies and students can increase each other’s value.
