One Million Leaders Africa (OMLA) will be Launched During Next Leaders’ Africa (Virtual) Summit

August 28-29, 2020
Theme: Exponential Change – Transforming Africa in a Decade!
The population of Africa is projected to increase to around 2.5 billion in 2050, and possibly 4.5 billion in 2100 (compared to 1.27 billion in 2019/UN 2017 projections). All key sustainability challenges, social as well as environmental, will be on full display in Africa in the decades to come, and the most vulnerable people are likely to suffer the brunt of negative future impacts (food, water, and resource constraints, conflicts,
climate change impacts, migrant flows, etc.).
At the same time, Africa has the youngest population of any continent on Earth, with an amazing amount of entrepreneurial energy and hope for the future. Business opportunities abound across the continent, but they will have to be explored in sustainable way and, hopefully, in collaboration with and lead by a new generation of sustainably and socially literate leaders.
The years between now and 2030 are critical for building an Africa that will not only survive but excel.
The Next Leaders’ Africa Summit 2020 (virtual) will explore ways African youth can collaborate to take
sustainable action towards transforming the continent. Also, the One Million Leaders Africa Program
(OMLA) will be launched during the summit.
